Hoops Takeaways: Warren Lincoln vs Old Redford

You’ve heard of dominant performances, and this was just that as it was all Warren Lincoln in this game as they beat Old Redford 70-32.

Chippy Game

The game between these two teams got chippy on the court and off of it. On the court, the players needed to be told to separate a few times, and one of the players on Warren Lincoln made a gesture towards a Redford player that had the refs step in to cool that down.

With 28.8 seconds remaining in the first half, the chippiness from the court went into the stands as play needed to be stopped as some fans had to be separated. It took less than five minutes to settle that situation. While we like to see emotions from players, we can go without seeing people rushing to the stands to break up a fight.

Playing on Your Heels

Old Redford was playing on their heels all game. They were playing in their zone for the majority of the game with no look of an offensive ability, and that was apparent with them dropping from 12 points in the first quarter all the way down to only scoring 5 in the third. They didn’t see double-digit points after that first quarter.

Team to Watch

Warren Lincoln will be a team you must get out and see this year. They play a fast-paced style with explosive players on their team, like the Blackwell twins (Moses and Markus), Kimari Barden, and Damarion Bozeman. Those four players combined for 48 of the team’s 70 points. They played the game with an explosive nature, and it will help them be one of the most exciting teams in the state.
