Hoops Takeaways: Lincoln Park vs Allen Park

The Allen Park Jaguars hosted the Lincoln Park Railsplitters on December 19, 2023, and it was all Railsplitters as they stayed undefeated by winning this one 48-41.

Allen Park

Comeback Cats

The Allen Park Jaguars made a late push at a comeback in their game against Lincoln Park. Due to their free-throw shooting, they had to play comeback kids in this game. The Jaguars had 15 tries from the line and only hit five of them. If the Jaguars were a little more sound from the line, this could have been a different story as we would be talking about a full Allen Park comeback, but instead, we are talking about a game that the Jaguars had all the fight in the fourth quarter, which shows they won’t give in when times are tough. However, it wasn’t enough after missing ten free throws.

Lincoln Park

Best Player in the League?

Lincoln Park might have the best player in the league and one of the most underrated players in the state on their basketball team. That player is Junior Sean Bailey. Bailey had a double-double in the win over Allen Park as he had 22 points and 12 rebounds in the win. While the fans of Allen Park were letting Bailey have it, he wasn’t phased by them and even went as far as to shush them heading into halftime. The Jaguars did a good job of containing Bailey in the second half, as his only baskets came from the free throw line, where he knocked down all eight shots. Bailey has the Railspiltters rolling, as they are currently undefeated. If he can keep up his physical style of play, he can make it a special season for him and his team.
