Week 8 Takeaways: Carlson Downs Allen Park for Their Fourth Stright League Title.

Allen Park High School was the site of the Downriver League title showdown between the 6-1 Allen Park Jaguars and the 6-1 Carlson Marauders. Coming into this game, the lone loss to both teams was against the Trenton Trojans.  Would it be Carlson coming away with their fourth straight title, or could Allen Park regain the top spot in the league? With a 42-0 final score, it would be Carlson coming away with the Downriver League Crown.

Allen Park Jaguars

Lost in the Jungle

The Allen Park Jaguars looked like a different team this week. The Carlson Defense made it tough for them to score a touchdown. While the Jaguars were able to march down to the end zone, they were never able to pull off what mattered the most. The Jaguars couldn’t protect the ball the way they normally do, which led to turnovers that allowed the Marauders’ offense to run them over.

Carlson Marauders

League Champs Four Times Over

Carlson is not an easy team to play with, as they only have suffered one loss on the season and are the highest-scoring offense in the league. The loss that they did have put an ever bigger fuel in their system. The team’s defense is a unit, and they are something to watch out for. This win was because of them not allowing a single touchdown from Allen Park or a field goal, but the offense also helped them get this title. There is not a single player on this offensive that is not going to do what they are needed to do.

Krolak for the Win

Everyone knows that Joe Krolak is the Quarterback you need to watch out for in the league. Krolak can do it all, and he showed it in this game. He was 7/9 for 66 yards with three touchdowns. He also added 8 carries for 162 yards and two touchdowns, one of which was an 87-yard touchdown. Undoubtedly, Krolak is meant to be this team’s leader.
