The Lumen Christi Titans faced off against the Kalamazoo Hackett Fighting Irish in the first game of the Prep Bowl. The Titans would run away with this one by a final of 39-21.
Kalamazoo Hackett
Deadly Connection
The Fighting Irish of Kalamazoo Hackett had one of the deadliest connections we saw on the field. That connection was between Jackson Herder and Keegan McCue. Herder found McCue six times for 76 yards and two scores. Now I hear you asking how it is that deadly. It is because when Herder was in trouble, he looked to McCue, and he would be there for his quarterback. While they lost the game that connection will be a big help for the Fighting Irish next season.
Lumen Christi
Complete Dominance
The Titans of Lumen Christi controlled the game from the opening snap to the final whistle. On offense, they couldn’t be stopped, as they were able to run the ball with authority and pass it when needed. While on defense, they forced Hackett to play how they wanted and smothered them. If they keep playing this way, they will be back at Ford Field to play for their record-breaking 14th State Title.
The Kadale Show
Senior Running Back Kadale Williams put on a show for everyone in attendance at the 39-21 victory, scoring a school-record six touchdowns. Williams did all of his damage on the ground, rushing the ball 26 times for 200 yards and the aforementioned school-record six touchdowns. Williams had the speed and shiftiness needed to make a great running back, and he showed it in this game.
