Smothering Defense

The Cubs of U of D Jesuit has a defensive unit that plays a smothering style. While they are a great offensive team, their defense is even better. They played at a high level and forced bad looks from the Clarkston Wolves. While they were able to hang around in the game, the Cubs were just too much for the Wolves, and it showed late in the game.

Bad shots and Missed Free Throws

In the first half of the game, the Wolves were right there with the Cubs, but it was in the second half that they started to take bad shots and miss their shots from the charity stripe. In the first half, they made seven of their ten free throws, and in the second half, they made three of the nine they attempted. They started taking bad shots, which led to them falling behind in the game. They needed the free throws to land to have a chance at winning the game.
