It was a battle of top 10 teams in the state of Michigan as the Trenton Trojans hosted the Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Eaglets. The game was a game of defense and goaltending, and the two teams went to overtime, where the Eaglets came out victorious 3-2.

Dangerous Durbin
If you’re a high school hockey fan, Donovan Durbin is a name you will need to watch out for. Durbin is a junior for the Trojans hockey team, and in his first year on the team, he has been phenomenal. Entering the game, Durbin had a team-high 12 goals, and he added to his total against Orchard Lake St. Mary’s by scoring the only two goals his team had in the game. It seemed as if every time he had the puck, Durbin could score as he took great shots on goal and didn’t look phased in the game between top 10 teams.

That Man Thad
If you thought we were impressed by Donovan Durbin of the Trojans, we were equally, if not more, impressed by the Eaglets’ Thaddeus Raynish. Raynish, a sophomore on the team, is also one of the players that wear the Captain C on his chest for his team, and that is no surprise as he not only is one of the best players on the ice for the Eaglets, but he is also one of their emotional leaders on the ice. While Raynish was out on the ice, he showed some of that competitive fire, and it looked like that fueled him. While he started the scoring in the first period, he would also be the reason his team won, as he finished with three goals, bringing his season total to 17 goals in 15 games this season.
