It may have been cold outside, but the heat was turned up in Plymouth as the Plymouth Wildcats hosted the Northville Mustangs in a game that was going to be key in the KLAA West. While the Mustangs would run away with the game late, it was back-and-forth for the first three-quarters of the game, but ultimately, it was Northville that would finish the game in the win column, 59-47.

Even Keel
While the Wildcats played good team basketball, no one player took over to officially ice the game when they came back from halftime up by two. You may be asking yourself how can you ice the game when you’re only up two, and that is simple. It felt like Plymouth was in control for stretches in the first half. They finished the half with momentum as sophomore Chayse Calvin hit a buzzer-beater to go ahead in the game, and after the half, everyone on the court deferred to the next man, not wanting to be that alpha dog, and put his mark on the game.

Not How You Start
The old saying goes, it’s not how you start it’s how you finish, and that was how the Northville Mustangs handled this game. The Mustangs are a streaky team, and the first half showed with some of their players, but come the second half, they exploded, and it was due in part to junior Nate-Isiah Imbuzeiro. Imbuzeiro is a shooter, and he showed that in this game as at the half, he had nine points and finished with a team and game-high 23 points, fully taking over in the game. Twenty-one of his 23 points came from beyond the arch as he hit seven of the nine three-point tries he attempted. Where Plymouth lacked the alpha in the game, Northville had theirs put his team on his back.
