D1QB Lab Game of the Week: River Rouge vs Detroit MLK

The first round of the division three state playoffs has given us one of if not the best game of the week as Detroit Martin Luther King(5-3) hosts River Rouge(5-3).

This is a common matchup as they played each other the last two years and the winner of that game has found their way to Ford Field for the championship game. Last year’s matchup came in the district final round as MLK beat Rouge 33-12.

Before the season River Rouge held a media day and the players didn’t forget what happened at the end of last season and were already looking forward to a rematch with the team that knocked them out a year ago as Michigan State commit Nick Marsh said

MLK is looking to repeat as state champs. They are still led by Oregon commit Dante Moore who is looking to lead his team to a fourth finals appearance in five years. Moore and Jameel Croft have connected a lot this season thus far and will look to keep that up this week.

Can the double trouble of Nick Marsh and Jaylen Watson lead Rouge past MLK? Will the big arm of Dante Moore be too much for Rouge to handle? Find out as our Game of the Week takes us to Downtown Detroit for a battle of the stars as Dante Moore and the Martin Luther King Crusaders host Nick Marsh and the River Rouge Panthers. Kickoff is at 6 on Friday night.
