Coming off of back-to-back state titles and an undefeated season, the Belleville Tigers enter as the favorites to win a third straight title.
The Tigers enter the season with 16 returners on offense and 11 returners on defense, including the top prospect in the 2025 class Quarterback Bryce Underwood. Underwood is a consensus 5-star. Not only is Underwood back, but fellow backfield mate and Michigan commit Jeremiah Beasley returns along with two-way athlete Adrian Walker and receiver Kevin Simes; all back, the offense shouldn’t miss a beat.
What will be different for the Tigers is a new voice on the sidelines, as former Detroit Cody head man Calvin Norman will now helm them up. Norman takes over for friend Jermain Crowell. While this will be his first year as the Head man for Belleville, he’s been with the team as an assistant since 2019. Norman said that the transfer to him as the head coach was easy due to that fact. Not only is it Norman taking a new role it’s also a whole new coaching staff joining him. He did say that this coaching staff hasn’t been on the winning side so as he put it the mindset of this new staff is more driven and and focused on doing things the correct way as Norman put it, the expectation of the team is very high, and there is nowhere for the guys to lack.
Norman and the rest of the new look Belleville coaching staff opens the season on August 25 at Wayne State versus River Rouge.
