Bear Sports Network Game of the Week Powered by Kroll Construction

After an exciting week one that saw us cover an amazing six games, we are back this week with three more.

On Thursday, we will cover a KLAA tilt between Northville and Plymouth and a Downriver League matchup that will see Trenton travel to Woodhaven. Then, on Friday, we will head to the Southeastern Conference as Saline will welcome in Dexter.

Thursday

Trenton at Woodhaven

We have another Downriver League tilt as the Trenton Trojans travel to Woodhaven to take on the Warriors. Last year, the Trojans upset the Warriors 21-14, but before last season, the Warriors had won five in a row. The Trojans enter this one after dropping their home opener to Southgate 29-28. However, Sophomore Defensive End Brock Culpepper will look to put a damper on the Warriors Home opener and add to his ten tackles from a week ago. The Warriors, on the other hand, beat Wyandotte 40-21 behind a strong performance from Maurice Tyler who finished with 142-yards and a touchdown. Kickoff from Woodhaven High School is set for 7 pm on Thursday, August 31.

Plymouth at Northville

The Northville Mustangs meet the Plymouth Wildcats in the KLAA opener. In 13 all-time meetings, the Wildcats have an 8-5 advantage over the Mustangs, although the Mustangs have won the last two games in this series. The Wildcats are looking for Senior Running Back Jaxon McCaig to make an impact and follow up his 168-yard and two-touchdown performance from last week. The Mustangs will look to Senior Nick Helner to add to his 121 yards and two touchdowns from last week. Northville will look to stay in the win column while Plymouth will look for their first of the season when they kickoff at 7 pm on Thursday, August 31.

Friday

Dexter at Saline- Game of the Week

A matchup of SEC Rivals and a game that meant a lot last season as Dexter beat Saline to win the league a season ago. Dexter looks different this year, as their star power from last year is all in college. As for Saline, they still have C.J. Carr, Cade Fox, and Dylan Mesman, who will try and send a message that last year was a one-time deal, and they are the Kings of the SEC. Saline opened the season with a 42-3 win over Brighton while Dexter fell 33-27 to Livonia Franklin; Dexter did have to fight back in the second half as they trailed 27-0 at the half. They will kickoff Friday, September 1, at 7 pm.
