The district finals for division one region 3 district 1 takes us to Belleville as the Belleville Tigers, led by the number 1 quarterback in the 2025 class, Bryce Underwood, welcome in Notre Dame commit CJ Carr and the Saline Hornets.
Last week in pre-districts, these two teams had polar opposite games. Belleville opened the playoffs with a game against Woodhaven, winning 48-0. On the other hand, Saline had to play a defensive battle as they squeaked by Ann Arbor Huron 10-7.
Belleville will try to put the report that came out last week further behind them with a win over Saline. Belleville will rely heavily on Underwood, wide receiver Kevin Simes, and linebacker/running back Jeremiah Beasley, all of whom still have one more year, except for Underwood, who has two more years.
Saline will try to finally even out their rocky season and look for a signature win. Led by CJ Carr, the Hornets will also look to the veteran leadership of Roman Laurio on offense and Tate Bezeau and Sullivan Mills on defense. The Bezeau-Mills combination resulted in 14.5 tackles in the win Friday.
