We are back for week 2 of the high school football season and our game of the week takes us to Lawrence Tech as the defending D2 champs Warren De La Salle Pilots take on the Muskegon Big Reds. In week 1 action Muskegon took on East Kentwood and beat them 20-14. For De La Salle they picked right up where they left off beating Detroit Renaissance 41-13.
For the Pilots they are still led by University of Cincinnati commit Quarterback Brady Drogosh. Drogosh is back for his Senior year when talking to him following the week 1 win “It was amazing getting back out there,” he said. Drogosh went on to say that although it was nice to get the win the team still had some things to work on heading into week 2.
Muskegon has owned De La Salle as they have played each other four previous times with Muskegon winning all four matchups to that Drogosh said “I know they are going to play us tough,” he continued by saying “I trust our coaches and our schemes, and we’ve been locked in all week so we are ready to come out and bring home a win.”
For Muskegon they will look again to lean on junior Quarterback M’Khi Guy who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown a week ago. Adrian Rankin Jr, and Destin Piggee also came up big in that game and will look to build on it from an offensive standpoint. For the defense senior Julian Neely came up big with two late game interceptions to clench the one score victory.
Predictions
De La Salle is coming off of a 41-13 win where most of the starters were out by halftime that most likely won’t be the case this week as they play a team that has had their number. For Muskegon they will look to bounce back and show why they are a perennial powerhouse. In the last meeting between these in 2019 Muskegon won 41-7. Can De La Salle bounce back and push it to 15-0 over the last two seasons?
