Downriver League MVP Finalists

As we do every year we post our MVP candidates for the Downriver league, and this year is no different except for the fact that you get to know a bit about them first this year.

The Candidates

Cody Britt

Cody Britt is the first guy on the list and might be the best choice for this award. Britt had 1,149 rushing yards on 168 carries which was good for 6.8 yards per carry to go along with 18 rushing touchdowns. Britt also played into the Carlson Marauders passing game as he had 102 yards and brought in another touchdown that way. Britt was also big on the defensive side of the ball as he had 60 tackles and also added to his touchdown total with a pick 6 and a fumble recovery for a score. In total Britt had 1,251 yards and 21 touchdowns for the Mauraders.

Cornell Perry

The next Stand out is Syaracuse commit Cornell Perry. Perry played both offense and defense for the Woodhaven Warriors this season. On the offensive side of the ball Perry had 6 touchdowns and 924 total yards. Where Perry really shined was on the defensive side of the ball and that’s where the Syracuse commit had an interception, a forced fumble, and 30 solo tackles from his safety position.

Ethan Gajewski

The final DRL MVP candidate is Allen Park Quarterback Ethan Gajewski. On the season Gajewski showed a calm poise for the Jaguars under center. Gajewski completed 60% of his passes for 1266 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also added two more scores on the ground to give him a total of 14 touchdowns on the season.

These are the three finalists for our Downriver League MVP award. Voting is now open on our Twitter, Facebook, and the comment section of this article.
