With the football season already heading to week four we are now looking forward to the end of the season, and our annual Downriver League MVP award.
Donovan Canterberry: Wyandotte Bears
Although the Wyandotte Bears(1-2) are down this season they’re getting steady play at quarterback from Xavier Baseball commit Donovan Canterberry.
Canterberry has a cannon for an arm and is a strong leader for the Bears. As quarterback he has thrown for 435 yards and 3 touchdowns while running it 19 times for 69 yards. Giving him 504 yards of total offense and 3 touchdowns.
Cody Britt: Carlson Marauders
Where would the Carlson Marauders(2-1) be without running back Cody Britt?
Britt is a Captain and the leading rusher on the field for the Marauders. On the ground Britt has rushed 49 times for 397 yards and 8 touchdowns he has also caught three passes for 5 yards and a touchdown to give him 402 total yards, and 9 total touchdowns with six of them coming in a week two win over Edsel Ford.
Ashton Mohlman: Woodhaven Warriors
Looking better than last year, Woodhaven Warriors quarterback Ashton Mohlman is more settled in under center than a year ago.
This season Mohlman has shown off his electric arm as he has passed for 465 yards and 7 touchdowns, and he has rushed it 11 times, another 83 yards and 2 touchdowns. Giving him 548 yards of total offense and 9 touchdowns.
Sunerio Hamilton: Allen Park Jaguars
After a run on big power running backs the Allen Park Jaguars have finally found an elusive back in the form of Sunerio Hamilton.
On 34 carries Hamilton has shown burning speed and great vision running the ball as he has totaled 443 yards and 4 touchdowns. Included in that is a three touchdown and 215 yard performance versus Wyandotte.
