The Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Eaglets came into the finals looking to end their 24-year title drought, and they did just that as Junior Trey McKenney led his team to their fourth Title as they edged out North Farmington 63-52.
North Farmington
Physical Play
The Physical Play of North Farmington might have been their downfall as two of the team’s top players fouled out, and two more were on the verge of it. The fouling out of Senior Tyler Spratt might have had the biggest impact on this game. Spratt fouled out midway through the fourth quarter just as it looked like his North Farmington Raiders were going to start making a run after wearing down Orchard Lake St. Mary’s. Spratt helped wear them down, but it was fellow Senior Landon Willams who was able to help lead his team back into it, scoring nine of his 16 points in the fourth.

Coming up McKenney
Junior Trey McKenney was all over in this one as he finished his run to the State Title with a double-double. McKenney finished the game with 32 points and ten rebounds to go along with his steal and two assists. After the game, North Farmington head coach Todd Negoshian said McKenney’s game was already NBA-like. When McKenney was asked about that comment, he said he appreciated it. As a Junior, McKenney has one more year left, and he is already looking forward to next year. As he mentioned in his post-game, while other prep schools have called him, he wants to finish what he started at Orchard Lake.
