The Allen Park Jaguars hosted cross-town rival the Inter-City Baptist Chargers in a thrilling overtime game that saw the Chargers come out on top 60-56.

Esse Makes it Look Easy
Sophomore guard Ethan Esse made it look easy against the Jaguars in the victory over his cross-town rival. Esse had 19 points, which was the game leader on the night. He also added five assists and two steals on the night. Esse was the focal point for the Inter-City Baptist Chargers’ offense, and he was also the guy the Jaguars’ defense keyed in on during the game. Esse was able to slide through the Jaguars’ defense and attack the basket; although he did hit two threes, those weren’t his main focus. He also used his court vision to find his open teammates on the outside as he drove into the paint. While only a sophomore, he plays beyond his years and will help his team.
Young Alphas
The Chargers have a young stud in Ethan Esse, who is the team’s leading scorer, and another sophomore stud in the likes of forward Carlos Jackson. Jackson played a significant role on both sides of the court as he scored 15 and had five assists. Jackson also added 11 rebounds in the game, which helped his team win. Esse and Jackson are two young alpha dogs that can carry their team for the next three years.
Allen Park
Play Through the Bigs
The Allen Park Jaguars have three talented big men who can carry the load for the Jaguars. The three bigs had 30 of the team’s 56 points. The one who led the way for the Jaguars was Senior Jacob Stickler, who scored 17 points. This isn’t the first time the big man has led the team, and it won’t be the last as the Jaguars looked to him inside the paint, and he will help guide them once they fully dive into league play.
