It was Senior Night for Riverview Gabriel Richard as they honored their only senior, EJ Bennett, before they welcomed in Lutheran North. When these two met on January 5, it was a 76-62 victory for Gabriel Richard. This time, it wasn’t that close as Gabriel Richard jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back as they would win by a final of 63-23.

It wasn’t the Mustang’s night when they traveled to Gabriel Richard. From the start of warm-ups, you could tell something was off with the team, and that rolled into their first-quarter performance, where they were shut out 17-0. At that point, they looked defeated and started putting up “I hope shots.” An I hope shot is a shot you put up, and hope falls, and they took a lot of them in the game. While the game didn’t take long, it was a long and disastrous night for the Mustangs.

Conquer and Expand
Pioneers were known for expanding westward in early American History, and the Gabriel Richard Pioneers picked up the expansion mentality. Luke Westerdale and Nick Sobush led the scoring charge. Westerdale had 23 points and 11 assists, while Sobush added 15 points. Both players played little in the second half as there was a running clock in the second half, and they took a 39 to 8 lead into the half.
