The game of the night at the MIHL Showcase pitted the Trenton Trojans against the Marquette Sentinels. While both teams are top-tier, Trenton won the game by a final of 5-0.
Trenton
Who Else but Durbin
In every game we’ve seen of Trenton this year, Junior Donovan Durbin has been the biggest star, and that was no different in the win over Marquette. Durban entered the game with a team-high 21 goals, and he would add to that total in this game. Durbin would go on to score three goals and assist on the other two. For Trenton to be good, their game has to go through Durbin, and that was clear in the win.
Marquette
Never Out of It
Even though the final score was 5-0, it never felt like Marquette was out of the game. All of Marquette’s shots were right there, with a few needing spectacular saves from Evan Sivi to prevent them from getting on the board. Seth Sandstorm and Easton Bal were the main factors in why the game never felt out of reach for Marquette, as they were pushing the offensive zone and getting good looks at the net, but those looks would be for nothing.
