In what was the most evenly matched game of the day, the Trojans of Traverse City Central met the Eagles of Grand Rapids Christian. While the Trojans showed everyone their might first, it was the Eagles that finished off the game, soaring to victory behind a big second and third period. They would win this one 4-3.
Traverse City Central
Early and Not Often
Traverse City Central was all about the early part of the game, but they fell off until the final seconds of the third period. Traverse City Central controlled the early part of the game, but something happened, and it looked like they coasted once they got up in the game. It was at that point they let Grand Rapids Christian back into the game, and while the game would end 4-3, Traverse City Central didn’t have enough to come back.
Grand Rapids Christian
Come Alive Late
The Eagles of Grand Rapids Christian lay in the weeds until they felt the time to strike was right. That time was in the second quarter. From the 13-minute mark in the second period until the end of the game, they put on an offensive showcase as they scored four straight goals, each goal scored by a different player. While each goal was scored by someone different, Joshua Hooper and Brody Baysore were the driving factors in the game, as they each came away with a goal and an assist.
