With both teams looking for their first State Titles, would it be a team that’s been there before or a first-timer led by an alumni of the school that he was facing? At the end of the day, Notre Dame Prep came out on top in this one by a final of 42-7 to give them the school’s first title.
Frankenmuth
O-No-Line
The line that has been so good for so long was nowhere to be found in this game. The line for the Eagles of Frankenmuth let in rushers left and right, and it was a noticeable difference in the game. Their quarterback had no time to pass the ball, and multiple times, running backs or other players for the Eagles of Frankenmuth were hit behind the line of scrimmage.
Notre Dame Prep
Air Raid
It has been an attack through the air for the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame Prep. In the first half of the game, quarterback Sam Stowe threw for 260 yards on 11 for 17 passing and four touchdowns to seven different receivers. The Fighting Irish’s threat of the run opened up enough of a door that they were able to pass it all over the field, and that continued in the second half as he finished the game going 15 for 21 with 293 yards and four touchdown passes.
Making you Feel the Pressure
The Fighting Irish’s defensive unit was able to get pressure all night on the Eagles of Frankenmuth’s offense. They disguised their coverages and brought the blitz when needed, but they were able to hold a team that hasn’t scored under double digits since they were shut out in the Semifinals last year to just one touchdown.
