At the Prep Bowl, the Clarkston Everest Miners met the Macomb Lutheran North Mustangs in the Cardinal Championship. These two faced off a year ago in the same game, one that the Miners would win. Would it be more of the same, or would the Mustangs get revenge? The Mustangs would get their revenge, but it would take Overtime for them to come out on top, as they would kick a game-winning field goal to come away with a 17-14 victory.

Nedwick Burns Bright
Senior Running Back James Nedwick shined bright in the loss. Nedwick was the whole offense for the Miners in the game, scoring both of the team’s touchdowns and running for 100 yards. Even though he looked like he was laboring near the end of the game, he kept going, and that’s when he was at his best, scoring his two touchdowns.

Rushing Attack
The Mustangs’ rushing attack was great in this one. Between Jack May and Vincent Campisi, they totaled 32 rushing attempts and 171 yards plus a score. While May was the workhorse, tallying 117 yards and a touchdown, Campisi was a great change of pace back for the Mustangs’ rushing attack.
Teodecki Does it all
While Bryce Teodecki didn’t have the most yards in the game, he made big plays on both sides of the ball. On offense, Teodecki pulled in three of the four passes thrown his way for 58 yards, and he had one rush that went for an 8-yard touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball, he had a big interception in the game deep in their own zone that saved a touchdown.
